From here on out, this account is officially an Ask Blog for the misadventures of a very dumb husband and wife duo with way too much free time on their hooves!
I’m going to divide this into parts to make it hopefully less rambly. Our official title for this pseudo-review is “What the 1977 Hobbit Movie Got Right." Critics have given this movie a lot of rough treatment over the years, and while I would be a liar if I said it was flawless, I think it’s a lot better than it is sometimes given credit for. And as I love to gush about the good qualities of works of fiction - particularly works that are generally written off as being "lame” - I think I am uniquely suited to give it a bit of good press in this trying time.
